Abacus Builders completed a comprehensive building envelope remediation for the 945–947 East Broadway Condominium, a two-building residential complex in South Boston experiencing active water infiltration.
The project involved a full exterior envelope replacement on three elevations of both buildings, including removal of existing siding, trim, and weather-resistive barriers down to the wood sheathing. New high-performance moisture protection systems, flashing, and fiber-cement siding were installed in strict accordance with engineered details and manufacturer specifications.
The work was performed in collaboration with Criterium Dudka Engineers, a local building envelope engineering firm, who provided the project’s envelope design, construction documents, and on-site quality control. Additional scope included window and door flashing integration, front entrance balcony roof replacement, upgraded exterior trim, and coordinated electrical and finish work.
This project highlights Abacus Builders’ expertise in complex, occupied condominium renovations, where sequencing, precision, and waterproofing details matter most.
