West 2nd St Water Damage Restoration

Project Spotlight: Fire and Flood Damage Restoration of South Boston Townhouse

In 2018, a sprinkler head malfunction on the top floor of a 4-row townhouse built in 2004 caused significant water damage to all the floors below. The owner, seeking expert help, discovered Abacus Builders & General Contractors online and was impressed with our proven track record of successfully completing fire, flood, and insurance-related residential projects throughout Boston.

After an initial assessment, we created a detailed proposal that satisfied all the insurance companies involved and collaborated with the client’s public adjuster to ensure full coverage of costs. Our team also worked closely with the master insurance provider, ensuring that the restoration process met all requirements.

Abacus Builders quickly initiated the water mitigation process using our in-house team of skilled laborers and project managers. We efficiently removed all water-damaged materials and finishes, including salvaging some items for later reinstallation, such as appliances. Despite the extent of the damage, the project was completed in just 4 months, allowing the owner to return to their home faster than expected.

Key aspects of the restoration included:

  • Electrical re-wiring
  • HVAC system repairs
  • Sprinkler system upgrades
  • Extensive installation of new insulation
  • Roofing repairs and replacement
  • Sheetrock installation, finish carpentry, and hardwood flooring
  • Tile work and updated kitchen finishes
  • Installation of new countertops, shower glass, and a complete interior paint job

The end result was a townhouse that looked brand new, with all damaged areas fully restored and upgraded.

Located in South Boston, near our office headquarters, this project highlighted our expertise in handling fire and flood damage restoration for insurance claims. If you require fire, flood, or insurance mitigation work, let Abacus Builders help restore your home to its original beauty.
